Fulani Accused of Burning Farmland
Fulani herdsmen have allegedly set ablaze a 46 acre cocoa farmland belonging to the 2011 best cocoa farmer in the Brong Ahafo region. The cocoa farm which came under the arson attack belonged to Nana Akwasi Ankomko (IV) and located at a small village called Kwafre near Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region.
Rite FM reporter, Koofori Bonsu reports that the Fulani herdsmen who have relocated to the area have brought with them about 10,000 cattle to the area which has resulted in the destruction of farms and farm produce.
He said the aim of the nomads is to set the grounds for the growing of fresh grass which is why they set fire to farmlands including that of the 2011 best cocoa farmer.
