The secretary of Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF) Mr. John Awuku Dziwornu has described the act of Food Sovereignty Ghana (FSG) to kick against genetically modified organism crops as being ignorant and selfish.
According to Mr. Dziwornu, these group members lack the ideas to talk about GMO crops adding that they are secretly motivated by politicians and individuals to make sure that they will throw dust into the eyes of farmers to boycott the GMO.
He spoke to rite news in an interview when stating his position about GNAFF joining the FSG’s lawsuit adding that, nothing proves they are farmers themselves, just that, they do not want farmers to get any improvement in their farming.
Mr. Dziwornu has challenged the leading counsel of FSG, lawyer Wayo Tetteh who claimed that, GNAFF’s fact on GMO is baseless and ignorant and asserted that he is himself an expert because he has pursued a course from Michigan state university in biosafety and bio technology and also a member of the team that developed the frame work of biosafety in the country claiming that he knows better than the lawyer.
