Four Passengers Escape Death In Somanya

Four passengers including the driver, two ladies and a child of about two years have narrowly escaped death in a dastardly road accident which occurred moments ago. The accident involving an Almera taxi cab with registration number, GY 2611 13, occurred near right FM, about 100m from the station on the Sra-Ogome road in Somanya in the Eastern region.

A large crowd of rescuers and sympathizers had already swarmed around the scene of the accident by the time Rite news got there.

The taxi which was occupied by the driver and a young woman with her baby was said to have been heading from the Ogome direction towards Sra when it skidded off the road and somersaulted before landing on its side.  A Good Samaritan who helped rescue the trapped occupants told this reporter how the occupants were trapped on one side of the vehicle which lay on one side.

Eyewitnesses narrated that the vehicle was speeding even as it approached the curve towards Sra, an act which surely accounted for the accident.

One of the women in the vehicle sustained some minor injuries on the figures but thankfully, nobody sustained any serious injuries.
