Fire Outbreak Rocks Dunkwa-On-Offin

By Saddat Asiamah:

Numerous fire outbreaks are reported across the country particularly in the harmattan season, especially bus fires. In this case however, the fire outbreak did not run over a farm but has reportedly razed down a four-bedroom apartment somewhere in the Central Region. The incident took place at Mfuom, a suburb of Dunkwa-On-Offin which reportedly took about two hours to be brought under control.

Bediako Gabriel, an eyewitness said even though there no casualties, properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis, that is about Gh c 4000.00 were either completely burnt to ashes or partially destroyed in the blaze.

Even though personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service said investigations were still underway and not yet complete, eyewitnesses believed the cause of the Blaze could be electrical, specifically, the current load shedding being experienced in the country.

The destruction of property left owners of the house down in tears as they lost all their hard earned resources.

The exact course of the rampant fire guts in our country sometimes leaves the populace to question if properties and lives that go down the drain are unrealistic and unimportant. The question is what pragmatic steps are put in place to sensitize the masses on the need to adopt fire safety measures to address the unending stories of fire guts getting worse over and over each day.
