FINANCE MINISTER GOES HOME FOR DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

Finance minister Seth Terkper has travelled all the way from Accra, the country’s capital to cast his vote for his choice of an assembly member in the Yilo krobo Municipality. Mister Terkper who revealed that he was a one-time assembly member is not looking forward to be left out of what many people consider the most important elections in the country but which continue to suffer a high level of aparthy.

Mr. Seth Terkper who is the finance minister of the Republic of Ghana told Rite fm that he was motivated to travel from Accra to vote in Yilo Krobo in the 1990s before Yilo Krobo became a District Assembly.  He added that it’s every citizen’s responsibility to exercise his franchise and that even the president is on his way to vote, likewise all other minister.

The 1990 assemblyman further stated that he believes in local governance and that assembly members play an important vote in the assembly governance by planning common fund allocation and revenue mobilization which also motivated him to cast his vote at his electoral area.

He also urged all those working in the formal sector to seek permission from their superiors to go and vote despite the fact that today is not a public holiday.
