Fifi Kwetey seeks re-election as he files nominations forms

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South constituency in the Volta Region, Hon Fifi Kwetey has filed his nominations forms as he seeks re-election in the 2016 polls.

Mr. Kwetey, who is also Minister for Food and Agriculture, told a sizeable crowd that thronged the party office upon hearing he had gone to file his nomination, that his preoccupation remains the transformation of the constituency.

Among other achievements in the near three years since he was elected to parliament, the minister lists projects such as a clinic and nurses quarters at Klikor constructed by CDH and the Fifi Kwetey Foundation; a clinic at Zuime-Aflao sponsored by GCB Bank and the Fifi Kwetey Foundation; pavement of Aflao lorry station; construction of the Aflao Melcom – Border road; construction of Avoeme Atorkukorpe – Low Cost road.

Others are a kindergarten block for the Aflao EP School; provision of a 14-seater W/C toilet and bathroom for National School; provision of a maternity block for Avegato Beat 9 clinic; provision of 12-unit classroom block for Blekusu Mina Basic School; construction of 12-unit classroom block and provision of a 6-unit teachers quarters for the Srohume Basic School; and a 12-unit teachers quarters for Blekusu RC Basic School.

Apart from seeking to fast track the development agenda for the people, Fifi Kwetey also promised to work hard and improve upon the ruling National Democratic Congress’ votes from Ketu South in the 2016 general elections.

Five others have so far picked nominations forms to contest the constituency primary, while the party has fixed Thursday, 10th September 2015 as the deadline for filing of nominations forms.
