Farmers to receive training on how to improve production

Fish farmers in the La Dade-Kotopon Municipality will soon receive training programmes on new methods of increasing annual productivity and earnings to improve standard of living in the area.

Mrs. Rita Odoley Sowah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area disclosed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com after some selected staff of the assembly were taken through a three-day programme on Developing Local Governance Capacity to Promote Partnership and Foster Entrepreneurship” at the Accra International Conference Center.

The programme according to the MCE was specifically designed to train assembly staff on the need to train farmers to adopt modern ways and methods in fish farming to improve productivity.

She highlighted on the significance of the programme to farmers in the area, adding that the assembly will soon organize an extensive workshop for both crop and fish farmers in the area to improve their annual yield.

Meanwhile, the MCE has also hinted an imminent demolishing exercise to be carried out within the municipality. According to her, many building and properties were severely affected by last Wednesday’s flood and attributed houses built on water ways among others.
