Farmers Advised To Apply Fertilizers Adequately

Mr. Jeremiah Nuetey, an extension officer at the Department of Agriculture in the Yilo Krobo district has advised farmers to apply fertilizers and do so rightly to help their crops grow well.

Mr. Nuetey who made the remarks on the Kuapa Yo show, a segment on the Rite Morning Ride said vegetable growers should apply N.P.K fertilizers 10 days after planting and ensure that weed control should be enhanced.

On the mango crops, Mr. Nuetey said the farmers should clear any unwanted weeds to control stone weevils in the mango farm, adding that fungicides should be applied to check harmful pests affecting the crops.

Meanwhile the CEO of Annex Enterprise, Mr. Nelson Asiedu said no farmer should make his mind of planting crops at this time because the harmattan will soon set in.
