Expensive Agro Chemicals Killing Tomato Farmers

Tomato farmers in the country are worried because the authorities are not helping them at all in subsidizing the high cost of agro chemicals needed to cultivate their crops. In an interview with Nene Tettey Asumlah III, chief of Akroabo in the Eastern region and also a farmer, he noted that the high cost of chemicals and fertilizers were suffocating he and his colleagues and made a passionate appeal to the government to come to their aid by subsidizing the chemicals.

In an interview with Rite news, Mr. Asumlah further called for the prompt rehabilitation of the road network in his community which is very poor and does not enhance effective marketing of their produce.

He further stated that traders who come here to buy their products always have their price in their pocket before coming to their farms.

He appealed to the government to provide them with a processing machine for the cultivation of the large quantities of cassava which is produced quantities.
