Ensure Responsive Feeding –  Perents Urged

By Austin Ofori:

A Nutrition Officer with the Ghana Health Service in the Upper Manya Krobo district, Mr. Emmanuel Sackey has advised parents to allocate enough time towards feeding their children very well in order to enhance the child’s development.

Mr. Sackey who was speaking on the ‘Bime Tsorwi Anor Hiemi’ program on Rite FM on Sunday stated that parents can engage in singing, dancing and other activities to entertain the child when feeding since such activities are also a solution to curbing malnutrition.

According to him, would be parents who are not ready to employ this kind of approach towards dealing with child malnutrition should rather ‘close their zip and abstain from any sexual activities.’

‘Bime Tsorwi Anor Hiemi’ is sponsored by World Vision International, WVI; MC Gill University Canada; the Nutrition Research Center of the University of Ghana Legon; Farm Radio International, FRI and aired on Sundays between 6 and 7pm on Rite 90.1 FM.
