EDAIF, National Association of Bee Keepers To Organize A Workshop On How To Rear Bees

The CEO for Honey Tree Bee Farms and the president for National Association of Bee Keepers, Mr. Addo Newman had said a workshop is to be organized on how to rear bees.

According to Mr. Addo Newman, this workshop will be organized by EDAIF in collaboration with the National Association of Bee Keepers which will start in the Yilo Municipality to enhance the quality of honey Turkey needs from Ghana. He was speaking  on “Akuafo Si Sen” a segment on Rite FM’s  Morning Ride Show.

Mr. Addo Newman said that, the Export Development and Agriculture Investment Fund (EDAIF) has allocated an amount to train two hundred (200) bee keepers, also  they will be giving new boxes and will be taught how to use them wisely.

He noted that, the equipment will be given to the trainees , after the training,

“we will find out where you want to rear your bees for the honey and also, guide lines will be given to you so you can benefit from the work”.

Mr. Newman emphasized that, in Europ and US, there is a disease which is killing their bees therefore, they are unable to get the honey they need from the bees.

Meanwhile in Africa, the same disease exists but the bees are not destroyed by them. He revealed.

He therefore urged all Ghanaians to go into bee keeping even at our back yards because the Africa Union (AU) has involved themselves enhance the bee production to see to it that the European countries and the United States comes to buy them.
