Latest to pick up forms today at the offices of the Convention Peoples Party, CPP’s party headquarters this afternoon is Mr. Joseph Agyepong, one of the party’s stalwarts vying to contest the presidential primaries on the ticket of the party.
As the political temperatures continues to heat up towards the December, 2016 presidential and parliamentary polls, the recognized political parties all continue to gear up towards the contest. Latest to make a decisive move towards the exercise is the Convention People’s Party, the CPP which opened nominations for presidential and parliamentary aspirants on December 28 and close on the f the party took the decision at its meeting on December 21 and close on January 11, 2016, for the presidential contenders and Thursday, March 31, 2016 for parliamentary aspirants.
The party has fixed fees for the forms for the presidential aspirants at GH¢5,000.00 and filing at GH¢10,000.00 while fees for the forms for the parliamentary aspirants are pegged at GH¢500.00 while filing is at GH¢2,000.00.
Some contenders in the race including Miss Yaba Samia Nkrumah, a former chairperson and leading member of the party, have already picked up their forms. Other contenders vying to contest on the party’s ticket include Lawyer Bright Oblitei Akwetey, an Accra-based legal practitioner; Dr. Onsy Anwar Nathan Kwame Nkrumah, son of Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah; and Mr Joseph Agyepong, a Ghanaian based in Canada.
