The national women organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to government to as a matter of urgency collate all the surviving victims and provide them shelter at the hajj village or at any of these places: El-Wak sports stadium, Accra sport stadium to give them some sort of hope.
Explaining further into her appeal, Madam Otiko Afisah Jaba noted that government should provide the victims relief items such as tent and mattress for their comfort now till a new place are secure for them.
She also stated that, government should identify every single soul that survived the “Dark Wednesday” disaster so that some unscrupulous persons who were not affected do not benefit from any sort of relief items meant for the victims. “When unfortunate situation like this happens, some people find ways and means to benefit from items meant for victims”, she added.
Madam Otiko Jaba told rite FM in an interview on the “Morning Ride” that some victims are sleeping in the open whiles others are also hungry so government should feed and give shelter to the victims, even yesterday someone was trapped in a building, she reiterated.
She again appealed to the general public to donate blood to save victims who survived the disaster at the designated centers across the country because their lives are very important and dear to the nation.
