CELEBRATION OF WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY.

A resident dentist at Atua Government Hospital, Madam Heartwill Amartey has educated the public on the importance of oral hygiene, as the world marks World Oral Health Day. She said, that the world was celebrating oral hygiene as a means to promote good oral hygiene practices among people.

She explained oral health as the ways by which we clean our teeth very well to prevent dirt and cavities. And also cleaning of the teeth, the gum and tongue should be done day and night, to prevent tooth decay and other oral related diseases. And its also advisable to clean your teeth with a toothbrush and tooth paste.

Furthermore, she stated that though it is good to use chewing stick to clean the teeth, it is advisable to use toothpastes that have good chemicals to rewash the mouth, and it would be best to use brush and paste. It is also important to clean our mouths to prevent germs from staying in between our teeth for long hours as it can lead to mouth odor.

Also, the growth of germs in our mouths can cause stomach pains.
