Avoid Replanting Same Seeds

Mr. Nelson Asiedu, Chief Executive Officer of Annex ‘A’ Enterprise at Somanya has advised tomato farmers to avoid replanting particular seeds during every season to avoid being infected with the Black Spot which is a fungi diseases that affects the tomato plant.

Mr. Asiedu explained that it is very advisable for farmers to plant disease resistant seeds or change seeds season by season in other to avoid the Black Spot.

He further noted that sometimes tomato farmers bought the tomatoes from the market because of its nature and how nice it looks like. He advised farmers who want the hybrid or exotic breeds to get the original seeds to avoid the fungi diseases which can threaten their yield adding that it’s not necessary to control this disease with chemicals.

He advised tomato farmers to use the local variety which has been recommended by experts which is a more improved variety and also to change the seed season by season.
