Addressing the rice farmers, Mr. Emmanuel Wandaat who is an agronomist for the Dreyfus Commodities assured them of the safety and huge benefits they turn to derive from the use of the herbicide devoid of any losses in their rice production.

‘Weed control is one of the essential problems you have to fight or control as a farmer on your rice farm,’ Mr. Wandaat noted. He underscored the fact that farmers who did not properly control weeds on their rice farms stood the risk of losing close to 90% of their yield.

He said, some types of weeds seen on rice farms today were not present some twenty or more years ago adding that if such weeds are now showing up on our farms, then there is the need for a new merchandised rice herbicide to fight those new emerging weeds.

Mr. Wandaat stressed that Rigold is the most effective rice weed fighter today irrespective of the kind of weed it encounters. This according to him is because of the two major active ingredients present in Rigold which are triponelle and propanol.

Some rice farmers who expressed excitement at the new herbicide to Rite news, described it as a saviour to killing weeds on their rice farms.

Also accompanying Mr. Wandaat was Mr. Stephen Tour, sales agronomist as well as Mr. Theodore Eyram Avukpor a Sales Officer with Louis Dreyfus Commodities.
