Agrique Africa Investment Summit Begins Today

Day 1 of the scheduled 2 day Agriculture Investment Summit 2015, is underway at the World Trade Center, Accra, Ghana under the theme, ‘The Agribusiness growth story: Changing Landscapes or Rethinking African Agricultural Sector: Challenging the status quo.

In attendance are high level investors from all over the continent, entrepreneurs, tertiary students from Ghana and local farmers in Ghana.

One of the facilitators of the morning section, Mr. Emmanuel Bongo seized the opportunity to explain to the gathering that investment in the country was up to the individuals rather than always depending on government and grants.  In addition he stated that Ghanaians and for that matter Africans have to look up to regarding agribusiness, hence the need to stop treating the agribusiness industry as a way of life and to move on to business ventures.

Submission of other presenters reveals that, Africa imports almost everything to the continent so why can we allocate jobs. When all the jobs are being created by Africans by foreigners, then Africans need to wake up and seek for the most available opportunities that are closer.

Participants have the opportunity to engage in healthy interactions with the investors present to ensure development.

Stakeholders including the Commission on Science and Industrial Research, CSIR, Esoko, Gunnies Ghana, UniBrain, CCLEAR, and many more have exhibition stands for the benefit of participants.
