Agric Directors Take Delivery of New Pickups

Agric directors in the various districts and municipalities of the Eastern Region have taken delivery of new pickups for purposes of effective and efficient monitoring, supervision, evaluation, visiting, etc.

This was disclosed by the Eastern Regional Extension Officer, Papa Allotey.

Papa Allotey told Captain Adabugar on the Rite Morning Ride that the gesture falls in line with government’s commitment to developing the agric sector.

“Government is really committed to developing the Agric sector for which reason measures must be put in place to provide the necessary logistics,” he said adding that “plans are also underway to provide extension officers with motor bikes and uniforms for proper functioning and easy identifications by farmers.”

Speaking on the ‘Akuafo se sen’ segment of the Rite Morning Ride to educate farmers on government’s action plans towards the agricultural sector, the Eastern Regional Extension Boss underscored the role the planting for food and jobs program is expected to play including ensuring food security and sustainability. “The planting for food and jobs programme is to ensure food security and sustainability,” he said.

He added that liquid and powdered fertilizers were available for various farming activities and said the Nation Builders Cops (NABCO) under the programme will also provide the farmers with more extension officers to assist the extension servicing system.
