Ada MP Cautions Ghanaians To Desist From Politicizing Covid-19

The Member of Parliament for Ada Hon Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah has appealed Ghanaians to rise above politics and rally behind the President and his government to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Speaking on Rite Morning Ride with Austin Ofori Addo, she said these are not normal times to play politics with the virus, which has been declared pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO)

Ghana has so far recorded 636 coronavirus cases, 17 recoveries and 8 death.

Hon Comfort Doyoe who bemoaned the unconcern attitude of some citizens about pandemic mentioned, that political criticisms are being thrown everywhere instead of sharing collective ideas.

“The pandemic is everywhere with highly developed countries greatly affected. Unfortunately, cases have been recorded in Ghana so we should not joke with the attack against the world and the situation on the ground else we will smile on the wrong corner of our mouth, but we pray it does not happen that way,” she said.

” Let’s take the precautionary measures to keep ourselves safe and leave the government to fight the technical aspects. If you identify any symptoms, report immediately to the nearest facility to get yourself treated and saved,” the law maker advised.

The lawmaker who distributed a number of support items said measures are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into Ada.

The items distributed include 17 poly tanks, 33 infrared thermometers, over 200 veronica buckets, liquid soap, hand sanitizers, dettol among others to all the 27 assembly members in the area.

“I have also place poly tanks at Kasseh and Ada Foah markets for the market women to enhance hand washing, distributed hand sanitizers to drivers and food vendors in the constituency because we are all fighting a common enemy and there is the need to fight it from a common front,” she said.
