Activities Of Fulani Men Threatening Natriku Farms

Farmers at Natriku near Akuse in the Lower Manya Krobo district in the Eastern Region have registered their anger and displeasure regarding the destructive activities of Fulani herdsmen and their cattle on their farms.

Speaking to Mr. Edward Osabutey, an affected farmer at Natriku, he told Rite news that Fulani men herding their cattle took their animals through their farms to harvest their crops leading to the destruction of their farm produce.

Mr. Osabutey was particularly worried about the seclusion of their farming lands from the main Akuse Township which according to him was a major factor in the Fulani invasion. He explained that this was because they were unable to monitor the activities of the herdsmen due to the distance and which the Fulanis took advantage of.

He thus expressed his readiness to corporate with the Akuse Police commander to put a ban on Fulani herdsmen.
