Residents in Accra continue to face challenges anytime it rains, flooding has somewhat become a regular happening in Accra as a result of limited and choked drains, houses that have been built on water ways and other human activities.
Although Wednesday’s rains didn’t last long, some areas, including Tesano, Avenor, Kaneshie, Nkrumah Circle experienced floods. Over the past few months, some individuals have been reported dead as a result the floods.
Residents have thus called on the government to come up with drastic measures to avert the flooding situation. “We are appealing to government to work on flood prone areas to prevent history from repeating itself since we are already in the rainy season and the memory of June 3rd can’t easily be erased from the minds of the ordinary Ghanaian” they lamented.
Meanwhile, the Deputy director in charge of forecast Mr. Joseph Potoffi has said, there will be heavy rainfall this season especially in June and most resident should listen to weather forecast to avoid flooding
