Ghana is in high spirits as the players of the senior National team, the Black Stars, are preparing to meet the squirrels of Benin.
For the past thirty seven years Ghana has been trying to win the tournament, as well as this year’s edition in order to end the 37 year drought. Coach Kwesi Appiah speaking to the press, told the public that the Ghanaian players are going to perform massively to win this year’s tournament.
Since the inception of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 1957 (62years), Ghana has made so much progress in qualifying for almost all the CAF confederation cup in order to gain access in the AFCON. This year has not been any different as the players of the Black stars made it to this year’s AFCON.
Many people have shown great disappointment in the decision taken by the head Coach of the senior national team as to why he had to bench the general captain Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah from starting this year’s first eleven.
Meanwhile, others have also given Coach Kwesi Appiah the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he is doing therefore they only hope it yield good results.
Several videos of the Black Stars players that have gone viral shows how the gentlemen are preparing towards game ahead.
Captain Andre Dede Ayew have also assured Ghanaians that, he and his team are going to do whatever it takes for them to bring back the cup to Ghana this year to end the 37 year suspense the country has faced since 1982, when they last won the AFCON tournament.
