Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly Adjourn Election of Presiding Member

The Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region on Wednesday failed to elect a new Presiding Member to replace the outgoing PM, Mr. Wisdom K. Appiasah.

This was during the assembly’s first ordinary meeting of the third session at Somanya.

The day which was also set aside to elect a new presiding member for the assembly to replace the outgoing PM, Mr. Wisdom K. Appiasah was adjourned until further notice.

The postponement, as explained by the electoral commissioner on the day, was occasioned by the fact that no member had filed his nomination to contest for the position.

The election was therefore adjourned to be held at an approved date or scheduled for the next assembly meeting.

Mr. Appiasah in an interview with Rite news said he would continue to occupy the position in an acting capacity until a new MP is elected by the house.

The absence of a PM in the deliberation of development matters at the Assembly, could slow down the decision making process as the Assembly would not take and implement major decisions.
