The 2009 National Best Tomato farmer, Mr. Seth Ofosu Adjei has stated their readiness to produce more tomatoes to Conserveria Africa Ghana Limited, importers of Gino Pomo brand in Ghana.
According to him tomato farmers in the country have the capacity to produce more to the satisfaction of the factory, but this will be done if only the managers will come to negotiation with them.
Mr. Ofosu speaking to Rite news in an interview concerning the newly tomato Factory (Conserveria Africa Ghana Limited) being inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama yesterday at Tema noted that most processing companies normally rely on the tomato being imported into the country than the locally produced ones adding that, they will welcome the factory if it will demand their produce.
He noted that, some processing companies reject their produce due to its quality as a result of pesticides and chemicals they use on the tomatoes noting they are not as quality as compared to the foreign ones which has also been a factor of their low produce.
