Three-unit classroom block commissioned in Agormanya

The Municipal Chief Executive of Lower Manya, Honorable Simon Kweku Tetteh has commissioned a three-unit classroom block, a store and a staff common room for the Akromoase Islamic J.H. S at Agormanya. The program which was attended by the Assembly Member of the Electoral area, the Headmaster, NPP party representatives, Students, the Deputy Director of Education, the Chief Iman and other invited guests.

During his speech, Hon. Simon stated that the current state of the school structure was in a bad state but through the help of government and the transformation agenda he will put this classroom block together.

He added that parents are expected to bring their wards to the school, refusal to do so will attract a penalty by the social welfare. He charged teachers to take good care of the facility and also stated that over 3000 Arabic teachers have been recruited which is a very big hallmark for the government.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Benjamin Wewey also added that, over the years, whenever there was a heavy downpour, he was compelled to close down the school and the children had to go home due to the deplorable state of the structure. He expressed his gratitude to Hon. Simon and promised to take good care of the classroom block. Thus, there would be no reason for the school to closedown during the rains, and no absenteeism on both the parts of students and teachers.

 

Hon. Tetteh cutting the sod

 

Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh also cut sod for the construction of Lower Manya Education office building at Kpong. According to him, for over 40 years, the workers of the Educational Office have had to rent a facility and this has slowed down learning in the district.  Thus, the need for a new facility to enhance smooth working environment.

The Deputy Director of Education for Lower Manya, Mrs. Agnes Akweley Atipo thanked the MCE for the help given to them and assured the MCE that they will do everything humanly possible to maintain the facility which will help them work gallantly to improve the standard of learning in the district.
