The Manager for Blue Skies Foundation, Mr.Alister Djimatey has said that the resource center in Somanya is also a research center.
According to him, the resource and research center built in Somanya was an idea that originated from farmers. Blue skies accepted the idea because in Ghana, farming is our main focus but farmers find it difficult to get information so it was a good idea the farmers brought to them.
He said this on “Akuafo Si Sen”, a segment on the Morning Ride on Rite FM. Mr.Alister also added that the resource and research center can also be used a conference center, aside that it can host programs such as weddings , meetings and the likes for income generation purposes since the center has a conference room and has a sitting capacity of two hundred.
Mr. Alister Djimatey further explained that, the center has offices for the farmers, an exhibition center and also an ICT lab to enable farmers to do research since it has an internet café even though we are benefiting from center.
Mr Djimatey revealed that now the farmers go there for training and that has also made the association stronger.
He urged the government to fulfill their promises towards Agriculture in Ghana.
