Former Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Constituency in the eastern region, Mr. Michael Teye Nyaunu has descended heavily on his successor describing him as a failure who has woefully failed in his responsibilities in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Mr. Nyaunu who is seeking a comeback to parliament on the ticket of his mother party, the National Democratic Congress said he will be charitable to score his successor 20% in the performance of his duties as he has failed in his parliamentary responsibilities as well in his role at various deputy ministerial positions.

Citing why he’s the best candidate to represent the people of Lower Manya in the 2017 parliament, Mr. Nyaunu listed a number of projects and social interventions he did in his first four years of his 16 years in office.

The former law maker said he set up corporative farms to provide jobs for and feed the unemployed young people in his constituency. “I provided lands, ploughed it and gave them maize to grow without demanding anything in return,” Nyaunu revealed. He said those farms were situated at Kpong, Akuse, Odumase and Abanse, all suburbs of the Lower Manya constituency and that a total of 800 people relied on those farms.

Further, he said he concentrated on Human Resource development where he personally sponsored the education of a number of his constituents who were financially challenged, to further their education. That was not all; he constructed market sheds in various towns such as the Atua, Laasi, Kpongunor, Akuse and Kpong markets to ease the plight of traders doing their businesses under weak sheds.

That is not all of the former MPs achievements. MTN as he’s popularly called said he put a number of young people into various trades such as sewing, welding, hairdressing, driving, fitting, etc.

Though most of the funding for these came from the MPs common fund, Michael Teye Nyaunu said most of these also came from his personal funds.
