Ohemea Akuaba Foundation is a foundation set up to educate young girls on the effect of teenage pregnancy, the danger associated with illegal abortion and the need for parents to educate their children as well as addressing issues of breast cancer associated with young ladies.
In view of the foundation to enhance education in the country, the foundation in collaboration with LIVE GHANA, an Islamic NGO has donated books worth thousands of cedis to four schools in Yilo Krobo Municipality and all schools in Akuapem from crèche to senior high including some private schools to support teaching and learning
During the presentation, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation Nana Akosua Dankwa Amoabea II who is also the Ankobaeahemaa of Larteh Kronti Division said they have realized that teenage pregnancy is increasing with young girls dropping out of school and its becoming burden on the parents and the society as a whole hence setting up the foundation to help educate girls on the importance of going to school even after giving birth and the positive impact they can make in the society as graduates.
She said the foundation is also focusing on eradicating breast cancer among young ladies through constant education on the disease and regular breast cancer screening.
She stated that, the foundation which was lunched recently at Larteh Akuapem will ensure effective community development through education.
She has therefore expressed her gratitude to the chiefs, queen mothers and everybody who honoured the invitation and attended the lunched of the foundation adding that, the motive behind the establishment of Ohemea Akuaba Foundation will be executed by God’s power.
