Branch Manager of the Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank limited, Dr. Gabriel Odeh Apotey has assured farmers that his outfit has drafted a policy called the Agricultural Financial Inclusion, (AFI) to support farmers within his jurisdiction.
Dr. Apotey, speaking on Rite FM’s program Agric Forum with Krobea Asante was responding to the call by the agriculture minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna that insurance companies should have policies that will favour farmers.
He said this will be of fortune to those farmers in Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, New Juaben, Suhum, as well as Upper Manya Krobo districts. According to him, farmers in and around these areas will benefit from the insurance policy.
Dr. Apotey added that the policy entails credit facility for farmers and their insurance, adding that these are two products that have been lined up for the agricultural sector because it’s very necessary.
