Nana Yaw Ampem Darko Jnr. Assemblyman for Atimpoku electoral area of the Asuogyaman district, in the Eastern Region has advised Politicians in the country to be mindful of where they file their porters since not every place do they have the right to post bills.

This follows the arrest and detention of a 16 year old pupil, Emmanuel Amponsah of the VRA complex No. 2 junior High School by some custom officers last Sunday around 8:30pm at Atimpoku.

The officers who were on patrol on the Atimpoku road are said to have chased about 4 persons upon seeing them destroy  posters of President John Dramani Mahama, but luck eluded Emmanuel and he was arrested and subsequently handed over to the Adom Senkyi Police Station where he was charged for the offence of destroying a political party’s poster.

The Assembly member disclosed this in an interview with Rite News today and expressed shock over how political parties mar the beauty of our streets with posters, adding that the politicians do not care where their posters are pasted. This act is uncalled for and must stop in the country.

In a development, he debunked allegations that the police ever molested the minor who was sighted for the offence of destroying NDC posters and urged the general public to stop circulating such false claims which has the potency of sending image of the police to disrepute.

He however revealed that little Emmanuel has since Monday been granted bail but expected to report periodically to the station and cautioned students especially the youth to desist from such illicit acts that can end them in Prison Custody.
