I Don’t Take Krobos For Granted – Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of Lower Manya Krobo that he and his government have not and will never take the support of the people in the district for granted. He acknowledged that Krobos have stood behind his government solidly and given him every support that is needed. “…I want to assure you therefore that I won’t take your support for granted. What is due to be given to you as your first share of the National Cake I would make sure I would give out to you?” The president assured.

A confident President John Dramani Mahama also stated strongly that his party will win the upcoming general elections based on their party’s record in the last four years.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Lower Manya Krobo on Tuesday as part of his “Accounting to the People Tour”, the President said the infrastructural projects embarked upon by his government have been phenomenal despite economic challenges, adding that , the people of Ghana will retain his government in power based on the achievements.

“Over the past four years, we’ve had economic challenges but despite the economic challenges, if you look at the investments we’ve made in education, in health, in supply of water, in roads and other infrastructural projects all over the country, it’s been phenomenal,” President Mahama said.

“I have presented myself to lead the NDC party in the next election and I believe that with the record that we have achieved in our first term in office, we believe that the people of Ghana will give us a second term to complete the work that we are doing,” he said amidst a thunderous uproar from the crowd.

President Mahama therefore advised first time voters to take advantage of the limited registration exercise, which begins on the 28th of April to have their names on the register to enable them vote for the NDC in the 2016 election.

“Now that we have handled the social and economic infrastructure, the next phase of my administration would be on enhancing income generation and economic empowerment, providing our young people with skills so that people would learn how to operate excavators, bulldozers, welding, carpentering, plumbing as well as being able to find work for yourself so that you can feed yourself and your family, so that is the vision of the government for the next term.

“I present myself to lead the NDC party into the next election and I believe that with the record that we have shown now in the first term of office, the people of Ghana would give as the second term to conduct our work. But before we can do that, it is important that we are able to exercise our franchise as Ghanaians to be able go for the next election.

“As we all know, the run up to every election we give the opportunity to those who have turned 18 to be registered. And the final registration would be held between the 28 of April and the 8th of May, 2016,” he told the people.
