Government poised to raised standard of education in Yilo Krobo

The Yilo Krobo Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Andrew soda has said, government is working hard to raise the standard of education in the Yilo Krobo municipality through the GET fund and the district assembly common fund.

Speaking at the 58th edition of the Independence Day celebration at Yilo Krobo Senior High School (YIKROSEC) Park in Somanya, the MCE stated that, the performance of Yilo Krobo municipality at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has improved from 47.5 % in 2013 to 83.99% in 2014 and that the assembly has been able to complete a number of projects in the various schools.

 

He added that, in the health sector, the assembly collaborated with the hunger project to construct four (4) epicenters in four farming communities. He said, with the support of the population council, the assembly has constructed family planning facilities at Somanya poly clinic.

 

The event was attended by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yilo Krobo Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Kofi Amoatey, the municipal director of education, chiefs, teachers, students and other invited guest.

The theme for this year’s celebration was Achieving Transformation through National Unity.
