Ghana Can Produce Its Own Fertilizer

By Austin Ofori Addo:

Director for Food Sovereignty Ghana, Mr. Kofi Adjei has observed that Ghanaians can produce their own fertilizers and even enough to be exported to other countries if its people develop concrete interest in recycling food waste and filth into compost production.

Mr. Adjei who made the observation in an interview with Rite News observed that the country also stands to benefit more from value addition and give employment to its people if it undertook such ventures. This he argues invariably ensures that more of its unemployed graduates are employed in this sector.

He also noted that adding value to its people through this venture could increase the country’s export capacities and ensure that it places itself in a good position to export to other countries.

According to him, this can also promote made in Ghana goods as well as the interest of the Ghanaian farmer. Mr. Adjei therefore urged all and sundry to support the Ghanaians farmers.
