Farmers in the Eastern Region have been urged to come together as a group to benefit from farm inputs and credit facilities provided by the government. The call was made by Nana Oboadie Opambour Bonsu, the youth organizer for Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen.
Speaking on Rite News, He said farmers in the region especially those in the Yilo Krobo Municipality have ignored to come together under one umbrella to push for favorable agriculture policies making it difficult to identify their needs .
Nana Oboadie observed that this will help to identify the needs of farmers and govern will provide accordingly and can also benefits from the government subsidy programs. He added that, some farmers will always be out from government support programs because they are not ready to come together or form an associations.
Nana Oboadie said that, farmers should always blame themselves if they do not get any intensive support from the government because they have failed to join Ghana national association of farmers and fishermen which is the umbrella of all farmers in the country.
