Dynamite fishing is very harmful – Collins Amoah

 The Production Officer of Volta Catch, Mr. Collins Amoah has educated that dynamite fishing is the practice of using explosives to stunk or kill schools of fish for easy collection.

Speaking to Nana Ama Sarfo on the Food,Nutrition and Hygiene program the production officer schooled, the practice is illegal and punishable by law and also harmful to human health hence fishermen must avoid it.

“This illegal practice and can be extremely destructive to the surrounding ecosystem as the explosion often destroys the underlying habitats such as coral reefs that supports the fish.”

According to him, aside the chemical not been environmental and human friendly, it has the decency of killing every fish within its catchment areas also tasteless.
