Calabash Farming Is Very Profitable

Mr William Akufo a calabash farmer at Kwahu Sumunakese in Eastern Region has in an interview with Rite Fm said that calabash farming is very profitable venture because it is the fastest growing plant. But that is not all as another advantage is that it’s manageable and the cost is less.

An obviously satisfied Mr. William further said that calabash farming is easy to manage since the cost involved is less. He said calabash is not cheap and that despite its high cost buyers from other countries come down to buy their products and so there is no market problem.

But Mr William has a problem. He said the only problem they are facing are insects that sometimes attacks the calabash, destroying them in the process. He has therefore called on the government to come to their aid by assisting them financially in their farming activities to expand their businesses and fight the destructive insects.

Mr. Akuffo did not hesitate in inviting the youth who continually shy away from farming to engage themselves in calabash farming since its less capital intensive.
