President Akufo Addo announced construction of classroom blocks for Ketem

The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo assured the people of Ketem, a suburb of Lower Manya Krobo municipality in the Eastern Region a new classroom blocks as their current block poses threat to both students and teachers.

Ketem has been in the news over poor classroom infrastructure for more than one year after Rite FM’s Community Watch program team brought the situation of the school to light. Among other challenges yet to attract attention include access to potable drinking water, electricity, motorable road and communication network.

According to the chief for the rural community, Dadematse Atteh,  the mud classroom was constructed by the community  for over forty years without assistance and maintenance till date. He added that they have called on authorities for many years but to no avail.

After further engagement with the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh and other stakeholders, the president has announced the construction of a six unit classroom blocks with auxiliary facilities to both pupils and teacher.

The president speaking at the manya krobo annual Ngmayem Festival  of the people of Manya Klo has noted that it is mandatory to  improve education  in every part of the country and such basic infrastructure must be provided to enhance good academic performance since it is the key to every successful  country.
