Deputy Minister of Agriculture in charge of crop, hon. Alhassan Yakubu has assured farmers of being provided with inputs and fertilizers for the 2016 farming season. Hon Alhassan made the assurance during an interview on the Rite Morning Ride.
He added that there is enough input for farmers to buy and apply on their farms for their farming activities and that the government will engage in the subsidization of the prices of fertilizer so that the farmers will get the fertilizer to enable them afford these needs for application on their farms.
The deputy minister further stated that they are going through the procurement process to get the fertilizer companies to deliver the fertilizers to farmers during the 2016 farming season and that by the month of March everything will be ready.
