Gender minister in Yilo to monitor leap programme

 

Gender, women and children minister is visiting the Yilo Krobo Municipality to monitor how the livelihood empowerment programme (leap) is being implemented.

This was made known to Rite FM in an interview with the director of social welfare in the Yilo Krobo, Mrs. Sara Nai-Mensah who explained that, as part of the minister’s effort to make sure that the ministers effort to make sure that, the programme is rolled out successfully and also goes to the targeted beneficiaries.

She noted again that, the minister Naana Oye-Lithur will check where the right amount is being allocated to the supposed beneficiaries.

According to Mrs. Nai-Mensah, there are 872 targeted beneficiaries in the Yilo Krobo municipality.

Each beneficiary in a house hold is entitled to forty-eight Ghana cedis (Gh¢ 48) for two months, two beneficiaries get sixty Ghana cedis (Gh¢ 60) for two months, three beneficiaries in a household will receive seventy-two Ghana cedis (Gh¢ 72) for two months and twenty four (24) and above beneficiaries in a household will also receive ninety Ghana cedis (Gh¢ 90) for two months.

She said adding that, the programme has just started in the Yilo Krobo Municipality and every targeted household would benefit from the leap.
