I Haven’t Received My January to October Common Fund Hence my Projects Have Been Halted: Okletey Teye Larbi
The Member of Parliament (MP), for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, Hon Ebenezer Okletey Teye Larbi has said, projects in his constituency have been halted due to lack of financial support.
Speaking on Rite Morning Ride, he said he hasn’t received his common fund since the beginning of the year till October and due to this, some projects he started have been halted. He pointed out such projects that have been halted as, a school construction at Wawase, Electrification at the middle belt and Ayimesu JHS building, Obelemanya Staff Bungalow, Asitey CHIP Compound has been roofed and plastered, Djekiti JHS, etc.
“I am only waiting for my common fund to complete some of these projects because I can only complete them when I get support from the central government because as Member of Parliament I cannot do all this without support,” he said. The current government has neglected all these projects and has refused to complete them. He added that he has over a hundred (100) Tertiary students whose fees he’s paying.
MP Debunked Allegation of Collapse Factory
It will be recalled that, on the 30th of July 2019, Hon Okletey has commissioned an aluminum manufacturing factory at kpong which will deal with roofing sheets, silver saucepan fabrication, etc.
During the commissioning of the factory, the Lower Manya Krobo lawmaker has stated that the factory will give 50 direct and 400 indirect jobs to the people Krobos but recently there was an allegation that the factory is on a verge of collapse, no work going on at the said factory as he claimed.
Speaking on the issue, he said the allegation was never true, the factory is functioning. He urged the public to support people when doing good things instead of criticizing and discouraging them. There are two security men watching the place so if not for anything at all I have given two people jobs.
I have invested thousands of dollars into that factory so there is no way I will leave it to collapse the factory is dealing in hardware, I don’t do retail but rather wholesale so we only produce on order, when people place order then we deliver to them we don’t do less than 50 order.
