We Don’t Take Money From Farmers ; Alex Fordjour.

Mr. Alex Fordjour an Agric Extension Officer, in an interview with Rite FM disclosed that they do not take money from farmers to teach them, following a report by a farmer that products for their farms were being sold to them by the Agric Officers.

Mr. Fordjour responded that they (Agric Officers) are well trained personnel that love their work and are satisfied with what the government pays them. “No officer is trained to be collecting money from farmers before or after teaching them”

He added that although the officers took care of their own transportation on field visits, it does not give them the opportunity to ask for money or food stuffs from the farmers. It is also against the ethics of their job to sell farm products to the farmers.

He further explained that, their work is not to separate or split the farmers rather it is to bring them together as one for one language, one force, one barrier, one course and one goal to enable them work hard. He concluded that neither he nor other officers has the right to ask for money from the farmers.
