Eastern region performed proudly at National Farmers’ Day – director
Eastern regional director of the ministry of food and agriculture, Mr. Henry Crentsil has applauded the performance of the Eastern region in the just ended farmers’ day celebrations.
According to the Agric director, the region maintained its number one position in the exhibitions exercise prior to the event.
He said the region’s impressive status as a fruit processing hub pushed it to exhibit and showcase its fruit value chain and a lot of its fruits which won the admiration of several observers.
He was particularly impressed with fruit processing companies in the Eastern region including Blue Skies for supporting them with various products.
Mr. Crenstil also disclosed that the Eastern region grabbed several awards at the event as he enumerated the various awards scooped by various individuals in the various categories.
Mr. Alex Frimpong Tenkorang from the Afram Plains South of the Eastern region was adjudged the 2nd runner up at the national farmers’ day event. Aside this, individuals from the region also picked awards including the national best youth farmer, national best fish processor and national best aquaculture farmer.
