Eastern Music Awards 2020 In Doubtful
Mr Ofie Wonnanie who is the Public Relation Officer for Eastern Music Awards says the award scheme is still considering the reality of this year’s event amidst ban on social gathering, following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Ghana reported its first two coronavirus cases on March 12, 2020, subsequently which the government has imposed some restrictions including social gathering.
On Rite Chat Show with Papa Attitude on Rite FM on Saturday, Mr Ofie disclosed that management is still in discussions whether or not the award scheme should be held this year.
He was however, quick to say that, “unfortunately, corona virus has cause disorganization to a lot of events, programs and plans in the world, and it seems to have an upper hand over this year’s Eastern Music Awards.”
Having being in the system for the past 3 years, Eastern Music Awards aims to unveiling and developing musical talents within the Eastern region.
Though no substantive decision is reached, the PRO alluded that there have been a lot of comments and doubts from fans across the region.
He remarked that: “we will let the public know as soon as a decision is made.”
