Climate Change Has Affected Okro Production

As all spheres of the farming sector continue to pour out their grievances over the poor rainfall pattern arising out of the troubling climate change, okro farmers in the country have also joined the chorus. Philip Safo, an established okro farmer, explained that their work is suffering because okro farming requires a lot of rainwater to flourish, something that is absent.
However, poor rainfall arising out of the climate change has led to poor yield and harvesting. A disturbed Mr. Safo told Rite news that in as much as they started sowing their okro on time, the climate failed them at the time when the okro started to produce. He added that, the river they depend on has also dried up so they depend on the dive and that is why they cultivate in the muddy areas.
In teams of marketing however, they don’t have much problem because they have traders among them who visit the markets to do price verification before selling their stuff. This according to him gets them informed as to the right prices so as to avoid being taken advantage of by unscrupulous market queens who would want to cheat them.
