Communities advised to support school farms.

The project officer of 4-H Ghana in the Eastern region has advised the chiefs and vulnerable in the society to support the various schools to engage in school farms.

He said the communities should take upon themselves to own the schools in their community to enhance school farms.

Speaking to Rite News, Mr. Stephen Okyere said if anything comes out of the school, then, it is going to benefit the communities so therefore, it is time to support the school in terms of providing farming inputs like cutlasses, spraying machines, fertilizers and others as well as even organizing themselves to clear the lands for the school children.

He added that, they are transferring new agriculture technology to the young ones and also offering them with options in agriculture value chain so that they will be equipped with the necessary skills in agriculture when they are out of school.

He noted that, these value chain will help the children to see agriculture as a business which will help them in future.
