´Mahama should´ve brought Woyome, SADA looters to Parliament´

The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has condemned President John Mahama’s decision to showcase 16 people who he said have had their lives transformed by policies at his State of the Nation Address in Parliament last Thursday.

Delivering what he termed ‘The Real State of the Nation Address’ at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra on Monday, Nana Addo said the President produced “an embarrassing display” during his presentation to Parliament.

He wondered why the President did not showcase businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who, according to the court, illegally obtained GH?51 million from the nation.

Nana Addo also questioned why the President did not present beneficiaries of the Smartty’s bus branding scandal and those he said had looted funds of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) to Parliament.

He said President Mahama painted a picture that bore very little resemblance to the reality on the ground, questioning: “Mr President, are you living in the same Ghana as the rest of us.”
