Road Infrastructure Remains My Core Focus – Joe T
Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo district in the Eastern Region, honourable Joseph Tetteh has set major road infrastructural development within the district as one of his core focuses as an MP. The legislature assured his constituents of tackling bad roads in the constituency as a bid to enhance safe and convenient means of transportation, especially to facilitate the transportation of farm produce to the market centers.
‘Joe T’ as he’s popularly known made these assertions during the New Patriotic Party’s delegate’s conference at Asesewa on Tuesday.
According to him, improving the road networks of Upper Manya Krobo would facilitate effective farm to market center activities which would also help rejuvenate the market centers.
‘My focus remains to improve on the qualities of the roads. This will certainly improve the transportation of farm produce to the market centers which invariably would improve the activities of our markets and also bring massive incomes to both farmers and traders,’ the honourable declared.
In the interim, ‘Gagaigo’ as his constituents call him revealed that he has provided a Grader to fix some adjoining roads to provide temporal relief to road users in Upper Manya Krobo while government provides the necessary resources for this purpose.
He expressed delight at the turn up of delegates to the event despite the short notice given them, a development he indicated the deep contentment within the rank and file of the members of the Upper Manya Krobo constituency of the NPP.
One other commitment the MP preached was his resolve to fight corruption on behalf of his people. Though he vouched for the integrity of the current executive members of the party, he nevertheless vowed to keep them in check to ensure that party and State resources were protected.
The conference which was attended by an impressive crowd of party delegates created an avenue for the delegates to take stock of happenings in the party at the constituency level and deliberated on new ideas to make the party successful in the coming years.
The MP asked members of the party and especially the youth to be patient with government and their leaders and eschew agitations as government was working on creating employment avenues through its ‘one district, one factory’ policy for the youth to ensure that youth their sacrifices were rewarded.
