Government Is Determined To Improve Industrialization – Veep

The vice President of Ghana,  Dr. Alhaji Mamudu Bawumia has stated the NPP administration has taken industrialization as one of its core priority areas to help create employment to the country’s working force.

Industrialization in the opinion of Ghana’s second gentleman will help eliminate the rate of social vices in the country.

“Government will create an enabling  environment for industries to operate to further encourage others to also go into industrialization in the country,” report quoted Dr. Bawumia.

Government during the maiden edition of president Nana Addo’s Meet the Press has announced its commitment and contribution to the development of the Ghanaian industry.

“In addition to government contribution, an amount of $20 million has been earmarked by local Financial Institutions as part of the stimulus package. This will definitely help in the revival of our industrial sector…….,” the president read.

The Vice President paid a working visit to cocoa processing companies within Tema Free Zone enclaves; Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading chocolate company and Niche Cocoa Industry Limited to challenges (needs) survey. He further added the president has tasked processing companies to turn raw materials into secondary commodities.

“President Nana Addo has charged Ghanaians to add value to our raw materials and not just exporting  thus the need to come for observations.”

Dr. Mamudu Bawumia has lauded the two companies for the great work and the employment they are creating for the people of Ghana.

The Managing Director of Niche Cocoa industry Limited, Mr. Edmund Poku appealed to the government to offer financial and exportation support to the companies.
