Government Awards Contract For Construction of 8Km of Roads In Lower Manya

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has awarded contract for the rehabilitation of some eight kilometers of link roads in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, Rite 90.1 FM has learnt.

This followed The Ghanaian Times News Paper publication on Thursday, 4th July, 2019 which invited tenders for rehabilitation of selected roads in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

According to the contract, the project will be funded from Road Fund.

Some terms of the contract said, the 8Km project which includes; 2.6Km Atua Government Hospital road, 2.7Km Nuaso Town roads, 1.8Km Kpong Quarters road and 0.86Km Agormanya Airport Agbom road is expected to be completed in 12 calendar months, starting from December, 2019.

According to Deputy Eastern Regional Minister and Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party for the 2020 elections, Hon. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey, the roads when completed, would enhance social and economic development in the municipality.

He also stress that, the facility would put to rest the long standing lamentations of many road users who have been expressing rant at government over state of their roads.

A release signed by the Special Aid to the deputy minister, Nyarko Gilbert Tetteh says sod cutting ceremony would soon be held for work to commence.
