FDA UNDERGOES REBRANDING

The FDA has gone through a rebranding process to improve its attitude and relationship with customers. The idea of a logo change has been in the pipeline for close to a year now.

Speaking on Rite FM’s Morning Ride today, Mr. James Lartey, the Head of Communications of the FDA made mention of some of the reasons that necessitated the change. ‘The old logo is a capsule on a plaque and so it looks a bit biased as the Food and Drugs Authority regulates more than just drugs. The old impression was that we are a negative body that only destroys things and we had to change that’.

‘The arrangements started about a year ago and we conscientized staff within this period to ensure a positive change in attitude and relationship between our customers and us’ Mr. Lartey said.

The logo change contract was awarded to OGILVY & MATHER GH, a leading marketing communications network in Ghana. When asked about the cost of the project, Mr. Lartey stated that the full cost of the project have not been collated yet. However, he assured the public that some precautions were taken to ensure costs was minimized.

With their new motto ‘Your Well-being, Our Priority’, the FDA hopes to do better to ensure the average Ghanaian’s safety is assured and adequately protected.
